The production activities in manufacturing enterprises are limited by time and space. Understanding the nature and traits of the relationship of space-time is helpful to the coordination and organization of space-time, and improve the productivity and efficiency.The paper discusses the general type and nature of time and space in the first place. Natural and social time has different nature, but the intrinsic link between them is that the social time is the variation of the natural. The inherent association manifests in two aspects between natural and social space. For one thing, the social structure is running under and subject to the natural space; for another, to meet the needs and desires of human beings, social space will be changed or created. Space and time are the two expressions of continuity in physical motion. Time and space always exist in one framework of spatial-temporal conversion, link to each other, and express itself with the aid of the other. The compression and separation of time and space is a bi-dialectical process in conversion of spatial-temporal structure.The space-time relationship of manufacturing enterprises is based on the natural time and space. Human economic activities reconstruct the structure of time and space socially. The operations of firms only occur and evolve in a limited "special time-space". The contradictions of production and capital accumulation and the improvement of tools and technologies promote the change of manufacturing time and space. Its behavior characteristics in time and space are that companies choose their space-time, and their spatial-temporal relationship is periodic, multi-layered, diversified and complicated.There are many multi-level diversified target groups in the business. The enterprises must choice and optimize the target groups. The paper discussed the optimization from two aspects of the traits of spatial-temporal in production. On the one hand, corporations choose cost or speed of response to market in the time-competition strategy in the established space. Tradition time method of competition leads to high cost in short time and not improve the firm’s competitiveness fundamentally by increasing personnel, equipment and production space. Composed to the tradition time method of competition, management based on time competition can make corporations gain competitive advantages. Because it is not only decreasing cost but also rapid response to the market through compressing the time in all steps of development, production and sales. On the other hand, businesses determine the cost and scope of market from two issues in the given period. The key of spatial organization of plants whose goals are minimum cost focuses on the comparison of the saving of transport cost and saving of labor. The delivered price can divide the market of two firms whose targets are to gain sales in the imperfect competition markets. The competitors achieve the goal of minimum transport cost and maximum sales at 1/4 point of line market, under the price elasticity of demand. The enterprise can find a satisfied location from expanse and income of the proceeds of the space by comparing cost and income, according to "minimum effort" principle and under the bounded-rational assumption...
