Research On Government Role Of Industrial Transformation In Guangdong Under The Cooperation Between Guangdong And ASEAN

With the deepening of reform & opening up and the improving of the economy,Guangdong, the first implementation of reform and opening up policy in China, has met many new problems in the development process earlier than most of other provinces:foreign "anti-dumping" and varieties of trade barriers, the disappearance of the demographic bonus and the rising of the land costs, aging society and environmental pollution and other issues. The current situation of Guangdong is similar with the early stage of Four Asian tigers, and that inevitable process of industrial development is the industrial transformation. Existing resources is not suitable for the old industry continues to develop, and the older need to find another suitable environment for their industry. Most areas of ASEAN, which are adjacent to West Kwangtung, are the ideal undertaken place for industrial transformation. In recent years, a series of national policies of industrial transformation provides a powerful boost for Guangdong industrial transformation;China-ASEAN deepening cooperation and the provincial strategy of revitalizing West Kwangtung offer the opportunity for Guangdong provincial government to cooperate with ASEAN to push Guangdong industrial transformation.In this paper, using the theory of industrial development, regional economics and administration and other disciplines, the status of Guangdong Industrial Transformation is researched by the combination of normative analysis and empirical analysis method.
