Pharmaceutical industry, known as the “sunrise” industry, resumed growth when the step of global economic recovery obviously becomes slow. In 2018, the global pharmaceutical consumption will reach $ 1.3 trillion, while China will become the second largest market that the capability will reach one trillion yuan. At the same time, When domestic pharmaceutical companies get many opportunities, they also faces many challenges that the pharmaceutical industry will encounter so many unfavorable factors like environmental protection pressure, rising costs, hot competition, and better product quality.Faced with growing competition, and external pressure, H Pharmaceutical Company, a developing small company, need to develop a strategic planning, and gradually implement to obtain sustainable competitive advantage, and explore on a suitable development way. In this paper, basing on a theoretical study related to strategies and according to the current situation of pharmaceutical development, development strategy and suggestion for H Pharmaceutical Company were proposed by identifying the current environmental opportunities and threats, and combining H Pharmaceutical Company’s internal strengths and weaknesses.The main contents are as follow:1. Analyzed external and internal environment of H Pharmaceutical Company, pointed out the development opportunities and challenges.2. Proposed the whole development goals and strategic thinking after SWOT analysis for H pharmaceutical company, and according to the next 5-year’s development goals, developed at this stage of development strategies: focused differentiation strategy, brand strategy and international strategy.3. In order to ensure the smooth implementation of the recent development strategy, formulated specific implementation measures for H pharmaceutical company. First of all, through improvement of the project management and innovative ability, accelerate the speed that new products launch, and build the technical barriers to improve the costs that potential enter, gradually form the core competence of the company. Secondly, through the establishment of a modern human resources management system and corporate culture construction, make up the company shortage of current human resources, and provide stable human resources support for the sustainable development of the company. Third, seize the opportunities, improve marketing ability, and provide an endless driving force for the company’s development. Finally, through brand-building and construction of the supply chain, meet customer needs with "high quality and low price" product and fast service, and eventually formed the core competence that the third party could not be copied.
