Rao Yang County in Hengshui City leads the development of local economy and helps local farmers get rid of poverty by developing protected vegetable and taking full advantage of national preferential policies. However, because of unreasonable planting scale and inappropriate facility type, the benefit cannot be maximized. Based on these problems, this study applies Schultz’s human capital theory and input-output theory to analyze factors influencing economic benefits of facility vegetable from perspective of input-output ratio. This study has important practical guiding significance to protected vegetable planting in Rao Yang. This study sums up present situation of protected vegetable planting in Raoyang by interviewing key figures such as vegetable growers, staffs of agriculture and animal husbandry bureau and statistical bureau. In addition, this study obtains the most suitable planting scale and shed type by comparing input-output ratio of different kinds of planting scale and shed. Last, this study obtains the influence coefficient of input and output ratio by analyzing education background of farmers, plant expanding capacity, government subsidies and other factors. 150 questionnaires are issued, with 141 effective questionnaires recovered, 94% effective rate. Results of data analysis are shown as follows:(1) If vegetables are grown naturally, net income rises with the increase of planting scale. Input-output ratio reaches the highest when planting scale ranges between 10 mu and 15 mu. Currently, only 31% of farmers plant on that scale in Raoyang.(2) Income of solar greenhouse is higher than that of plastic greenhouse. But net income ratio of plastic greenhouse is higher than that of solar greenhouse. Ratio of the use of solar greenhouse and plastic greenhouse is 1: 3.7.(3) Factors such as government subsidies(0.038), satisfaction with training(0.020) are positively related to input-output ratio of protected vegetables; Factors such as disaster-affected(-0.127) area, market price(-0.111) are negatively related to farmers’ income. Results show that most growers’ income is low in Raoyang; Inappropriate facility type leads to low benefit ratio; Expanding capacity, planting cost and market price influence net benefits of farmers. To realize sustainable development of protected vegetables in Raoyang, moderate planting scale is needed to realize profit maximization; two kinds of greenhouses and reasonable arrangement of crops are needed to make sure that vegetables are marketed in time and farmers’ benefit is improved. |
