With the development of economy, income gap between different industries also presents a tendency of expansion. It has an impact on economic development and social stability. Thus the method to quantify the gap becomes a hot topic. However, gap within industries is not only regard to income, but also some other dimensions like education, health, social security, etc. So the study on quantifying the gap from different points is more remarkable.By establishing a reference group, this paper constructs a unified analytical framework of relative deprivation. Firstly, it expends the theory of relative deprivation from within-group to inter-groups, from unidimensional to multidimensional. Then, it uses the data of CGSS2010 to do the empirical on the basis of the theory we provided in the second part. Finally, it provides some policy suggestions aiming to shorten the multidimensional deprivation between different industries. This study is divided into the following sections:The first chapter is introduction. This part mainly introduces purpose and significance of this study. Then it defines the concepts involved in this paper. Drawing technology roadmap and introducing the innovation of this paper. The second chapter is literature review. This part mainly combs the domestic and foreign research results of relative deprivation, which involves relative deprivation within group and inter-groups in unidimensional and multidimensional points. The third chapter is the theory of multidimensional deprivation between-groups. It provides the properties and an axiomatic characterization of the measurement. Then, it gives the method of drawling the curves of relative deprivation between different groups. Finally, we provide the aggregated between-group relative deprivation. The fourth chapter is the empirical analysis based on CGSS2010. In the part, it calculates multidimensional relative deprivation between different industries. We select five dimensions and eight indicators. Health, social security, income, education level, assets are involved. The fifth chapter is conclusion and policy suggestion. According to the results of the fourth chapter, it gets the final conclusions and put forward policy recommendations, which is more targeted, to narrow multi-dimensional deprivation between different industries.
