Study On Coupling Coordination Degree Of Urbanization And Industrial Ecology In Chongqing

Urbanization is the process of various economic elements of the non-agricultural development shifting to urban, including the changes of demographic occupation, industrial structure and geographical space. Urbanization also led to a series of environmental problems, such as the reduction of arable land, water and air pollution, shortage of resources, etc. in promoting economic development, industrial restructuring and technological progress, resulting in greater pressure to the environment and the further development of the economy.China is in a critical juncture of transition mode of urbanization and economic development now. China’s urbanization should be a union of industry, population, and land, social, rural. Industrial development occupies an important position as an important carrier and support force in the urbanization process. Urbanization and industrial development meet a new development opportunities in the context of the construction of ecological civilization and new Urbanization. Industrial restructuring, environmental protection, increasing land efficiency, strengthening innovation capacity and other issues have been put on the agenda. Improving the industrial development model and promoting industrial development to resource-saving and environment-friendly, recycling transformation, and developing green low-carbon industry, eco-industries, are necessary ways for achieving the new urbanization and sustainable urban development. Industrial Ecology is based on ecological principles of economics, integrated use of ecological laws, economic laws and engineering methods, to manage and operate of industrial by mimicking natural ecosystem circulation model, and finally achieving the maximum efficient use of resources and social and economic benefits and the minimizing pollution and waste. Industrial Ecology is an inevitable trend and advanced form of industrial development, also fundamental means to change the current extensive economic growth mode, in accord with the basic requirements of conservation-oriented society, the construction of ecological civilization and the new urbanization development. Therefore, the study of the relationship between urbanization and industrialization ecology and promoting the coordinated development of the two has an important guiding significance to solve the negative impact of urbanization.First,the paper analysis the theory of ecological economics, industrial ecology and the theory of sustainable development etc. to lay a theoretical foundation for the coordinated development of urbanization and industrial ecology of Chongqing through summarizing research progress and exploring the theoretical basis. Then learn from the experience of excellent domestic and international eco-industrial park development, and make a qualitative analysis of industrial ecology and urbanization situation of Chongqing. After that, building a set of urbanization and industrial ecology index system to evaluate the coupling coordination degree of urbanization and industrial ecology in Chongqing. Through literature review, system analysis, qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis method, the article summarizes the problems in the process of the development of industrial ecological and urbanization in Chongqing, and puts forward suggestions. The study expands and updates the urbanization and industrial ecology theory for adding a new methodology and research point of view, and has important meaning for deepening the study of cross-disciplinary research of industrial ecology and other disciplines, but also provide a reference path for Chongqing and other ecological vulnerable areas in development of urbanization, with positive theoretical and practical significance. We can obtain following main conclusions form Empirical research of Chongqing:(1) there is interaction between urbanization and industrial ecology. The urbanization changes industrial ecology by population, industrial structure and spatial expansion, and the requirements of industrial ecology in turn acts on the urban population space and economic development;(2) the article establishes a set of coupled index system for evaluation and coordination criteria of urbanization and industrialization ecological based on collaboration ideas and scientific, comprehensive, independent, dynamic principles;(3)During the year of 1998-2013, Chongqing urbanization and industrial ecology have gained rapid pace of development and high increase of the coordination. However, the growth rate of industrial ecology is lower than the growth rate of urbanization;(4)Optimal path of urbanization coupled with the development of industrial ecology can be considered from the perspective of strengthening ecosystem theoretical study, providing a good system and funding, technical support, developing eco-industries, enhancing the ecological awareness of residents and workers.
