The Chinese automotive industry after joining the World Trade Organization (WTO), in 2001, has expanded significantly. China’s personal motorization provides numerous benefits to individuals and society; however, roadway congestion, parking inefficiencies, and environmental problems typically accompany widespread auto use in urban areas especially in large cities such as Beijing and Shanghai.Recently, the Chinese government has been considering the idea of developing the car-sharing service that has already been very successful in Europe and in some Asian countries, in the biggest Chinese cities like Beijing and Shanghai.The paper starts from theories on the Collaborative Consumption and the car-sharing services; then, the author states the car-sharing business models; furthermore, it introduces the background of Car-Sharing Service in China’s Tier 1 Cities and its feasibility study by applying the business model in those cities; at last, some recommendations have been put forward to for the car-sharing implementation.
