Research On Approach For Implementing Servitization Of Manufacturing Industry In Chongqing

By the leading position in the course of industrialization, the western developed countries have implemented the transformation of servitization of manufacturing in the early stage. So they have competitive advantage of both industrial structure and international manufacturing enterprises. With the new industrialization of being raised, our manufacturing cannot meet the need of economic development, because our manufacturing model is heavily dependent on natural resources in the past thirty years. So this model of servitization of manufacturing has an important significance.This paper takes manufacture industry in Chongqing as the research sample. Firstly, it uses the input-output method from the industry level to analyze the investment level of both service in the different manufacturing and different service in the manufacturing which then is used to compare with nationwide situation. Secondly, from the angle of input and output servitization, this paper makes use of the structural equation model based on PLS to study influential factor and performance level of implement of servitization of manufacturing industry in Chongqing.According to the analysis of services spent on different manufacturing from 2002 to 2010, we found the development in Chongqing is different with national level. Meanwhile, the services industry can be arranged to distribution services, producer services and social services based on its investment in national manufacturing industry from high to low. However, the investments in these three services industries were always fluctuating in Chongqing in the same period. The results show that refer to the servitization of input, the proposed research hypotheses are all supported by empirical analysis. And refer to the servitization of output, the proposed research hypotheses are all supported by empirical analysis except for product cost. Then, based on influential factors of servitization of manufacturing industry in Chongqing, this paper suggests that the implement strategy of servitization in manufacturing industry should be proposed from the government’s view and enterprises’ view respectively.The innovation of this study is that by choosing manufacture industry in Chongqing as the research object, through the empirical analysis, there is a significant relationship between producer services and the implementation of the investment service in input servitization, but no significant relationship between product cost and output servitization.
