Entrepreneurs are very active and important groups in global economic whose development and innovation are often driven by entrepreneurs. Now China is increasingly changing the traditional concept of entrepreneurs to a more respect and esteem attitude. There is very broad definition of entrepreneur, not only the founder of a company but also who can launch innovative activities in any organization. Our society needs to encourage the promotion of entrepreneurship which is the source of power of most people. Research in the field of entrepreneurship has lasted for decades. The research topics in this field includes entrepreneurial motivation, entrepreneurial intention in individual level, entrepreneurial behavior, entrepreneurial strategy, entrepreneurial orientation in organizational level and entrepreneurial resources, entrepreneurship policy, entrepreneurial education in industry level. Entrepreneurship research is not only an effective way to conduct interdisciplinary research also has great practical support. In today’s global economy, the Internet industry has great entrepreneurial atmosphere and be most concerned by investors. The Internet is becoming the synonymous with innovative thinking, brings the greatest contribution to the world of an explosive amount of information, and connects the whole world. Internet has shortened the distance between people, cultures and can change people’s cognition, behavior and business’s models, channels. Due to the characteristics of theInternet industry, the research on entrepreneurs in this industry will be very representative, and can extend to virtually every industry and every market segment. Based on the literature review, our research focused the main research direction on the key issues of new venture growth through entrepreneurs study. There are many internal and external factors affecting the growth of many start-ups. The construct of entrepreneurial orientation in organizational has been cited by more and more scholars. We selected entrepreneurs sample in the Internet industry to research the factors affecting the relationship between new venture growth and entrepreneurial orientation. Prior to construct theoretical models and hypotheses, we first conducted some case interviews in both China and the U.S. to acquire some basis materials for further research. Combined with the characteristics of the Internet industry, this research selected the theoretical perspective on resources-based view. Considering the core competitive advantage of enterprises, we indicated to study the intellectual resource and social network resource’s moderating effect on the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and new venture growth. Then we collected and processed 182 questionnaires from entrepreneurs in China and the United States and used confirmatory factor analysis and linear regression models to test our model’s hypothesis. Part of the hypothesis was supported and part of them was not. Intellectual resources and network resources’indirect effect on the relationship between risk-taking dimension of entrepreneurial orientation and new venture growth is not significant. While the model result had some differences in China and the United States cultural contexts. Compared to America context, social network resources have more significant direct effect than intellectual resources on new venture growth in China context. In American internet industry, the proactiveness dimension of entrepreneurial orientation has been well moderated by social network resources.Therefore, this study points out that new ventures’care competitiveness resources, including the intellectual resources and network resources, have positive moderating effect on the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and new venture growth, but not entirely moderating effect on all three dimensions of entrepreneurial orientation. Proactiveness and innovation dimensions are significant, but risk-taking is not. In this paper, due to context of industry and country we selected and the limitation of research methodologies and sampling scale, this research has only limited theoretical and practical contribution though the result is consistent with past theoretical conclusion. Future research can target on the dynamic mechanism of various factors affecting on the entrepreneurial process and provide more valuable suggestions for the development and improvement of China’s entrepreneurship policy and entrepreneurship education through further study on entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial strategies.
