XinJiang is located in the west of china, and neighbouring with8countriesincluding Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrghyzstan, which gives XinJiang an locationadvantage of connecting china and mid-asia countries. XinJiang is not only agathering place of chinese and western cultures and economies, but also an importanteconomic gate that opened towards the mid-aisa and south-asia countries by china.In recent years, the international trade in XinJiang is developing in a fast pace,which makes25.71billion US dollars in total export-imprort volume in2012. At thesame time, another big increasement has been made in XinJiang’s residents’ income.By the year of2012, the urban per capita disposable income of XinJiang hit17921yuan RMB, in additional, the rural per capita net income hit6394yuan RMB.In the background of western development and construction of the "Silk RoadEconomic Belt", the development of Xinjiang foreign trade and the whole economywill usher in a golden period. Countries give a lot of policy support for thedevelopment of the western provinces, the autonomous region for the local economicdevelopment also has a lot of new planning."Twelfth Five Year Plan" period, thelivelihood of the people as an important economic indicator by many scholars andresearch concern, and the Xinjiang development planning in the future is also putforward the income together with GDP’s growth. Then in the development of thewestern region and the background of the construction of the "Silk Road EconomicBelt", Xinjiang how to fully utilize the opportunities for foreign trade better drivenlocal residents income growth, this is a new problem.This paper begins with the analysis of the Xinjiang foreign trade and incomesituation, and through the relevant mechanism analysis and empirical test to provethat the Xinjiang foreign trade impact on the income of local residents do exist. Butthe author is proved in the process also found that Xinjiang’s foreign trade for theincome of residents less influential. Then, the author combines the actual situation ofXinjiang, expounds the cause of Xinjiang foreign trade on income less influential, andsome reasonable suggestions are given in the last chapter, in order to improve theeffect of foreign trade on income of residents in Xinjiang.
