In recent years, leadership behavior has been a hot research topic at home and abroad, sothe leadership and its effect on employee’s attitudes and behaviors have attractedgreat attention of scholars. Hai Dai Lao Hot Pot, which is famous for its abnormal seviceconcept, has occupied the market in the industry quickly and got many positive reviews fromcustomers. Zhang Yong, the founder of Hai Dai Lao Hot Pot, is famous for his unique valuesand leadership. Thus this study selects Hai Dai Lao Hot Pot as the subject, and explores theunique leadership of native entrepreneur grew up in Chinese culture, and its influencingprocess on employee’s job attitudes and behaviors based on grounded theory.Following the research procedures of grounded theory, this study firstly proposes theresearch topic “how leadership affects employee’s job attitudes and behaviors", and collectswritten materials of120,000words through books, reports, newspapers and magazines. Next,through open coding, axial coding and selective coding on the data, the study extractsthe main categories and core categories. Finally, the study carries out the preliminary theoryconstruction, and theory reconstruction based on literature reviews.Based on grounded theory, this study proposes “idea leadership” which includes spiritorientation, ethics and justice, reform and innovation, and power balance. Next, the studypoints out that idea leadership has positive impact on intermediate leader’s organization-basedself-esteem, idea consistency, executive commitment and organizational commitment, thengreatly influences frontline employee’s job enthusiasm, voice, organizational citizenshipbehavior, organizatioal identification, and turnover intention. On this basis, this study finallyget a theoretical model of influencing process of idea leadership on employee’s attitudesand behaviors, through reviewing the existing literature in related fields.Using grounded theory approach to explore leadership in Chinese culture is ainnovation in method, which enriches the localized leadership research. The study deduces the dynamic influencing process of leadership on employee’s attitudes and behaviors, contactingsenior leader and frontline employees and overcoming the shortcomings of previous crosssection studies. However, due to time and resource constraints, this study only carries out acase study without analysis and comparison of multiple case, which makes the conclusion ofthe study has some limitations.
