The Study Of Quality Maintenance Management On Non-ferrous Metallurgy EPC Project In China

The EPC contracting business in Non-ferrous Metallurgy engineering companieshas been started relatively later. Generally, the business of design is stronger than theprocurement and construction in these companies, since they lack of the specialhuman resources in EPC project management; thus there are some weakness exposedin the maintenance management in project quality. Moreover, the system ofmaintenance in construction project in China has been in the developing stage, whichcaused that the development of some system construction falls behind the engineeringindustry. On the perspective of non-ferrous metallurgical EPC main-contracting, thisthesis analyses the maintenance management in domestic non-ferrous metallurgicalproject.Firstly, this thesis analyzes the current situation of domestic and internationalproject maintenance, then from the relevant law, regulations rules norms regarding theproject maintenance in Chinese construction project, along with the characteristics ofnon-ferrous metallurgical, combing with the conditions of FIDIC contract, from theaspects of quality maintenance period, defects liability period, maintenance fund,defects notification period, retention, quality objection period, the requirements inquality maintenance in China are analyzed, meanwhile, by using the time value thesis,this thesis analyzed the application of maintenance fund. From the conditions onmaintenance management in FIDIC Contract and Construct Engineering ConstructionContract, the requirement and regulation of maintenance management are analyzed, aswell as the matters needing attention during the utilize of the contract by thenon-ferrous metallurgical EPC main-contractor. By a typical case, the maintenancemanagement by the non-ferrous metallurgical EPC main-contractor is analyzed.Finally, this thesis summarizes the policies of construction project maintenance andthe aspects on maintenance management by non-ferrous metallurgical main-contractor,and puts forward the challenges which need to be further studied. This thesis providesthe beneficial reference in the domain of project maintenance management innon-ferrous metallurgical project.
