It is a common reality that economic activity is uneven distribution. China’s eastern coastalareas attracted a large manufacturing enterprise by policy advantages and closing to the overseasmarkets since the reform and opening up policy in china, and have formed "center-periphery"structure. But the industrys has been transferred to the Midwest from eastern recently years. We analyses the trend of China’s manufacturing industry agglomeration and diffusionthrough using HHI, absolute share index, Location entropy index. And find that the most of themanufacturing industry showing the trend in the eastern agglomeration from2000to2004years,while spreading trend in from2005to2010years. What are the causes of coastal regionalmanufacturing agglomeration and diffusion? What is a kind of role different types of marketconditions and cost factors in the east and Midwest industrial agglomeration and diffusionprocess? The article is on the basis of new economic geography, and taking electronic andcommunication equipment manufacturing industry as an example, and to analysis what effect arethe different types of market potential and the cost of manufacturing during industryagglomeration and diffusion. The article collect43cities panel data from2000to2010andintroduce the different types of market potential, land costs and wages cost to explain it. Theempirical results show that local market potential and foreign market potential have a positiveeffect to the industrial agglomeration, but external market potential don’t have significant role;Labor costs, industrial land costs and residential land costs played a centrifugal force forindustrial agglomeration. In addition, grouping estimates show that industrial land costs andresidential land costs rising in eastern region is the main motivation that promote electronicsindustry spread to the midwest, and local market potential and foreign market potential don’thave positive effect for the electronics industry agglomeration in the midwest.
