The Effect Of Team Reflexivity On Team Innovation

Along with the internal and external surroundings are more and morechangeful, the importance of team innovation goes without saying.Transformational leadership and team reflexivity has been proved to be thekey factors which influence team effectiveness (including teaminnovation).This study attempted to excavate the effect of transformationalleadership and team reflexivity on team innovation and the moderationeffect of team heterogeneity. Four hypotheses were raised about therelationships within these four key variables after theoretical reasoning.Hypotheses1: transformational leadership is positively related to teaminnovation. Hypotheses1: transformational leadership is positively relatedto team reflexivity. Hypotheses3: team reflexivity is positively related toteam innovation. Hypotheses4: team heterogeneity (including age, gender,education level and years of working in company) positively moderatesthis reflexivity and innovation relationship. Since studies about teamreflexivity were still infrequent in domestic research, there is greattheoretical value and practical significance in studying the mechanism ofthe effect of transformational leadership and team reflexivity on teaminnovation.The questionnaire survey was made within middle and small-sizedenterprises in the Yangtze-river delta region. Totally,96sets of valid teamquestionnaires and474valid individual questionnaires were collected. Andwe used SPSS to analyze correlation and linear-regression analysis to testthe hypotheses.Through empirical research the following main conclusions are drawn: a) Transformational leadership positively affects team innovation; b)Transformational leadership can effectively predict team reflexivity; c)Team reflexivity positively relates to team innovation; d) Education levelheterogeneity positively moderates the effect of team reflexivity on teaminnovation, that is, the higher the education level heterogeneity becomes,the more significant this effect of team reflexivity on team innovation willbe.
