| With the rapid growth of Chinese wealthy market after the financial crisi s,golden customers, especially the private banking clients, have become the focusof the competition between Chinese-funded banks and foreign banks. Matureeffective business models have been used by foreign banks to set up privatebanking situations in Beijing, Shanghai and other cities. There are more high netwealth individuals whose capital is more than ten million in these cities. Thepriorities for the development of commercial banks are focused on how toexpand the number of private banking clients, how to satisfy customers’ needs inprivate banking, and how to keep a stable economic benefits.The article summarized the present situation of the research on the relevantproblems of the private banking services at home and abroad. The articleclarified the differences between private banking business and other financialbusiness. With Heilongjiang branch of BOC as the subject of study, the articleanalyzed the present situation of the development of private banking service inHeilongjiang branch of BOC by combining theoretical analysis with empiricalstudy. The main problems are: The subdivision of clients is not enough; theservice process needs to be optimized; the monotony of services; there is short ofinter-disciplinary personnel; channel coverage of channel is low; the system ofperformance assessment needs to be improved urgently. The superiority anddisadvantages, opportunities and threatens have been figured out by SWOTanalysis. We propose development strategy such as subdividing customers,optimizing service process, innovating products, cultivating talents, buildingchannels and assessing performance based on the foreign advanced experiencesofprivate banking business for a long-term development of the Heilongjiang branchof BOC. |
