With economic development, especially the rapid development of high-tech, the role and the influence of comprehensive strength is in an extremely important position. In the relationship between countries and regions the comprehensive strength has been seen as a major issue of the decision to the rise and the fall. This article draw on a comprehensive national strength evaluation of research ideas, to evaluate the cross-strait economic power from the GDP, the per capita level, the growth rate and industrial structure point. The continuous economic development of the China mainland is the greatest power and the fundamental basis of peaceful reunification. In the60years of separation strength is significant. Since thirty years of Reform the Mainland’s economy has achieved rapid development. It narrows the economic gap with Taiwan and has been far from Taiwan’s thrown back.30years of Reform is30years of Mainland’s rapid economic development,30years of the rapid rise of the Mainland’s economy in the world stage and30years of successful development to create a "new economic miracle" and"China’s characteristic model of economic development".The economic competitiveness of the present is unfavourable for Taiwan. Cross-strait economic strength-balance has been significant changed.Taiwan’s economic advantages is no longer and its economic growth rate gradually reduced from the beginning of Asian "four little dragons" to the end, while mainland is showing strong economic strength and broad prospects for development. Taiwan’s economy is becoming increasingly dependent on the mainland, and the mainland has become for Taiwan’s economic development hinterland. Future to establish closer economic ties between Taiwan and mainland will be one of the important driving force to support the island’s economic growth.Taiwan’s economy could not afford the "independence" medicine, and the impact of economic power in the cross-strait relations tends to go up. With the cross-strait economic development level and the relative strength of change, and constantly enhanced Taiwan’s economic dependence on the mainland, the status and influence of economic factors in the cross-strait relations is more important to become an important material foundation and strength to curb Taiwan independence activities on the island. Cross-strait economic re-evaluation is the fatal attack to the "Taiwan independence" and increase the persuasiveness of "peaceful reunification". Therefore, we believe, more deep and close economic fusion will be a strong impetus to maintain cross-strait prosperity and stability, and ultimately lay a solid economic foundation to the peaceful reunification of the two sides. The early settlement of the Taiwan issue and the peaceful development of cross-strait relations can not be separated from the strong backing of the mainland’s economic strength. The mainland is the major promoter of peaceful reunification, and it is duty-bound to promote cross-strait relations and peaceful development. For the struggle between unification and independence the final factor is the comprehensive economic strength. The peaceful development of cross-strait relations needs unwavering faith and determination, but must rely on its strong comprehensive strength.Consequently objective, rational and clear understanding of cross-strait economic strength can help the mainland to better develop relevant policies, make better use of its economic strength. Without a strong economic strength it is impossible for the people of Taiwan to strong "centripetal force",to give "Taiwan independence" a powerful deterrent,to solve the Taiwan issue and create a favorable international environment for the complete reunification of the motherland.
