An Empirical Analysis Of Factors That Affect Tobacco Growers Cooperatives’ Development

The State Tobacco Monopoly Bureau proposed the development of modern tobaccoagriculture’s strategic objectives in2007. Since then，tobacco growers cooperatives as a newform of organization, extensive and accelerating the development trend of the rise in ourcountry. Tobacco production to achieve stable development of the urgent need for thedevelopment of cooperatives tobacco growers, tobacco is also an effective measure tostrengthen infrastructure management and protection. However, the development of farmerscooperatives is still in its infancy, coupled with the tobacco industry has a relatively uniqueindustry characteristics. This has led to the theory of tobacco growers cooperatives lack thenecessary attention and depth of their understanding. On this basis, this paper studied thefactors affecting tobacco growers cooperatives development. The following are the mainaspects of research.Firstly，this paper described the development of farmer cooperatives and farmersorganizations and research cooperation on the basis of learning the existing literature,,inorder to guide the practice of the tobacco growers cooperatives in Bijie area.Secondly，this paper studied the background, policy evolution, the development of theoverall situation and the constraints of the tobacco growers cooperatives. Furthermore, Onthe basis of the preliminary investigation, this paper studied the current situation of thetobacco growers cooperatives in Bijie area.Thirdly, On the basis of conducting research the Bijie Region4County300samplehouseholds, this paper researched the factors of tobacco growers to participate incooperatives, using the method of logistic regression model. In order to study the extent ofthe main factors affecting farmers ’professional cooperatives to participate in its variousfactors, in order to take appropriate countermeasures targeted to increase the enthusiasm offarmers to participate in cooperatives, farmers cooperatives to lay the basis for thedevelopment of the body, and promote farmers’ professional cooperatives faster and betterdevelopment, thus accelerating the development process of modern tobacco agriculture.
