Domestic tourism occupies the important position in the development of tourism,is developing rapidly, has become the focus of the society from all walks of life, butthe development of domestic tourism still faces many difficulties, the area betweenthe balance and the imbalance between the scale and revenue is a prominent problem,at the same time, domestic tourism research also has certain hysteresis. From study ofdomestic tourism in the perspective of tourism geography, this paper discusses thespace-time evolution of domestic tourist flow, in order to realize the quality ofdomestic tourist flow to ascend, for promoting the healthy sustainable development oftourism, rich tourism theory has a positive meaning.The data from1999to2011of the domestic tourism flow shows that domestictourist flow size is increasing year by year overall development momentum,2003and2008as the boundary, the development of domestic tourism in the scale is dividedinto three phases: steady developing, fast developing and faster recovery. The size ofdomestic tourism provinces also have basically maintained rising trends, focusingon its size-ranking changes,changing the spatial structure of scale of China’s domestictourism. The quality of domestic tourist flow index has been below1, but remainedslow upward trend;16provinces throughout the country are inefficient tourist flowand the domestic tourism flow in lower effectiveness overall. In terms of scale andbenefits under the two dimensions,31provinces can be divided into four categories.Different classes have different formation mechanism.Local residents travel capacity and external factors influence the quality oftourist flow. Provinces and cities should be based on their actual situation, takes thescale and benefit the balanced development of domestic tourism, enrich tourismproducts, increase the domestic tourism consumption; Enhanced external accessibilityenhance scenic area of the internal transport system optimization, optimization oftourist traffic, enhance the accessibility of tourism; Subdivide the target tourist market,innovative marketing mechanism, marketing way and means, expand the tourismmarket, set up the good tourism brand; Actively promote in the province and outsidethe province city of joint promotion, travel, play a cluster effect, multi-pronged,promote the overall improve the quality of domestic tourist flow.
