An Empirical Analysis Of The Development Of Urbanization And Employment Structure Based On The Panel Data Model

The current government has repeatedly called urbanization "the greatest growth potential in the coming decades," and to optimize the structure of employment, a key factor in promoting industrial upgrading in recent years is the process of urbanization in fast forward. Sichuan Province, the provincial government in the last year issued "on the2013accelerating urbanization opinion" mentioned the need to speed up urbanization, industrialization and stronger in order to promote employment, to play a leading role in industry, actively develop a strong ability to absorb employment traditional industries. Sichuan is a province of western China, rational and efficient conduct of urbanization and the national economy for western China has an important role, and thus the emergence of a theoretical problem is whether the development of urbanization has impact on the employment structure. If it does, what will be the impact? Therefore, the study of urbanization on changes in employment structure is affected and how to promote employment and industrial transfer in the development of urbanization has important theoretical and practical significance. In this paper, through the establishment of a comprehensive indicator system (including population employment, economic development, urban construction, social development, living and ecological environment) measure the level of entropy method with the development of urbanization in Sichuan municipalities, selected as the proportion of non-agricultural employment structure of employment indicators, analyzes the relationship between the panel data model of urban development and employment structures, and finally the actual situation for a better development of urbanization and employment restructuring, labor and other issues proposed measures.In reading the literature, based on the relationship between the paper attempts to urbanization development and employment structure for a more in-depth exploration of the theoretical and empirical aspects, the main content of the study are as follows. First, why should we study the development of urbanization and employment structure in Sichuan Province described the relationship between topics, and relevant literature review and combing, summed up the contributions and needs to be improvement predecessors, this study proposed entry point.Secondly, a comprehensive policy-oriented, presents a more reasonable measure of the quality of urban development approach, namely the establishment of a comprehensive indicator system (including population employment, economic development, urban construction, social development, living and ecological environment) entropy value method measure the level of urbanization, the development of cities in Sichuan Province, in order to fully reflect the development of urbanization quality.Again, the paper integrated data availability and practical significance, select the proportion of non-farm employment as indicators of the employment structure, using the measure of urbanization index system from2008to2012, the level of urbanization development quality of21cities in Sichuan Province, the establishment of the panel data model to analyze the relationship between urban development and employment structures, in light of the actual circumstances of the proposed measures to provide better development of urbanization and employment restructuring, labor and other issues.Finally, although this paper has been limited analysis of constraints and other aspects of the statistical data on the number, but by the relationship between urbanization and employment structure in-depth analysis, the following main conclusions.First, the rural population (mostly labor) transferred from rural to urban areas, with the transfer of the rural population, urban population growth obtained, rural economic development, and rural incomes, the same as the level of urbanization continuous improvement, more and more high wage levels, which will further promote the transfer of the rural population, and promote the development of urbanization, to achieve a virtuous circle.Second, if the level of urbanization development is not mature, non-farm jobs in urban industries provide higher transfer of rural population, which means no supporting relevant staff salary and rental housing livelihood improve the problem, then the impact on improving the quality of urbanization development is limited.Third, when optimizing the structure of employment by improving the quality of urban development, guiding the transfer of labor should focus on improving facilities and systems to protect cities and towns, to eliminate barriers to labor mobility in rural areas, but also pay attention to investment in agricultural science and technology and the decline in the proportion of agricultural employment financial security to enhance agricultural productivity.This article has the following characteristics.1.The establishment of the index system of urban development reflects the comprehensive development of the calculated development of urbanization, the urban population accounted for using a single representative of the level of development of urbanization can’t fully reflect the requirements of the various development policies oriented requirements urbanization. This article relates to the development of urbanization selected six categories of indicators index system, the development of urbanization were calculated21cities in Sichuan Province, the relationship with the composite indicator to analyze and employment structure has important practical significance, which gives indicators weights using entropy.That is, the greater the gap between the municipalities is, the right to get the index in the final measure of urbanization in the greater weight between an indicator, the results obtained can better reflect the development of urbanization differences between municipalities.2.With the measure of the quality of urbanization and the establishment of the panel model time, the region was analyzed, not only to expand the sample size and improve the credibility of the conclusions of the empirical analysis, but also a reflection of the relationship between intuitive and comparing variables.In this paper, the existence of deficiencies is reflected in the panel data model selection based on the test results are random effects model, which can’t effectively analyze the relationship between cities and urbanization development and employment agencies and classification, this makes the analysis results in this paper have some limitations.
