Research On The Relationship Between Energy Consumption And Economic Growth In The Central Region

With the development of economy, the energy impact on economic growth ismore and more prominent, scholars from all over the world more and more attentionon the relationship betweentheenergy and economic growth.The central region isChina’s inland connection, the hub of connection between the north and the south, is agranary, is the cradle of modern industry, is rich in energy reserves.In recent years, theeconomic of central China is develops rapidly, but itsenergy consumption structure ofa single, low energy efficiency to a certain extentrestricts the economy development,and has certain threat to the future economic development in central China.Thus, theresearch that the energy consumption and economic growth in the region sustainabledevelopment has practical significance.This article combed and scholars at home and abroad for reference of theresearch achievements about the relationship between energy consumption andeconomic growth, expounds related theory;To process the energy consumption andGDP statistics data of central China from1978to2012, analysis the energyconsumption and economic growth in central China the status quo and the associatedrelations;Using stationarity test, cointegration test, granger causality test and errorcorrection model on the relationship between energy consumption and economicgrowth in central China for empirical research.The results showed that: The resultsshow that the energy consumption and economic growth in the long term stableequilibrium relationship, the total energy consumption is a one-way granger cause ofeconomic growth.According to the analysis results and the existing problems put forward thefollowing countermeasures: to ensure energy supply, optimize the structure of energyconsumption, energy efficiency, increase investment in science and technology,rational energy development strategy and so on.Through the above study can be clear of the central region of the relationshipbetween energy consumption and economic growth, provide policy to support thefunctional departments promote the sustainable economic and social development ofthe central region;Provide the basis for the formulation of development planning;Topromote the development of the central region of low carbon economy and circulareconomy, energy consumption and economy coordinated sustainable development has far-reaching significance.
