As a crucial part of services, cultural industries aresignificant in promoting the countries’ economic as well as enhancing comprehensivenational power. As a result, more and more attention has been put on cultural industries.On the basis of summarizing previous studies, FDI of China’s cultural industries isdiscussed and Wanda Group merging AMC acts as an example in this paper.There are four sections in this paper. A brief introduction of Wanda Group and AMCis included in the first section. Then this paper makes a comparison between WandaGroup and AMC in some basic information such as developing history, business rangeand so on and introduces the process of merging in detail.The second section analyses the factors that affect Wanda Group merging AMC indetail. In this cross-border merger, Wanda Group owns advantages and opportunities, forexample, Wanda is powerful in strength and has a wide range of business. It also receivessupports of our country policies. But there are many disadvantages and threats thatWanda Group has to face, for example, there is less way of acquiring funds, experienceof merging is also lack and after merging, Wanda Group will have a heavy burdenbecause of the debt.The third chapter mainly analyzes the successful points of Wanda merging AMC.Wanda made good preparation before acquisition, solved the financing problem cleverly,pay much attention to the personnel integration, made good use of its own comparativeadvantage, meanwhile, strengthened exchange and learning with AMC. All of thesecontributed to achieving profitability in a relatively short time for Wanda.In the fourth section, this paper gives some policy recommendationsfrom the macroand micro levels. Companies should play the main role and dig comparative advantages.The state should exert macro-control functions to build a favorable environment topromote the development of our cultural industry jointly.
