A Comparative Study Of The Advanced Level Of Equipment Manufacturing Industry In Liaoning Province

The equipment manufacturing industry is an industry to meet the various sectors ofthe national economy and national security needs while developing a variety oftechniques and equipment. It is an important manifestation of a country’s overalleconomic strength and technological level. The development level of equipmentmanufacturing industry is an image of the industrial development level in a country andregion. China’s equipment manufacturing industry started earlier, after the founding ofNew China, the equipment manufacturing industry had a rapid development and variousaspects had been an unprecedented level of improvement. However, due to historicalreasons, the equipment manufacturing industry has a lot of questions, such as the weaktechnological level, the poor capability of independent innovation, low technologicalcontent of products, low value-added products, weak corresponding supporting capacity,short chain, lack of development of other related industries, which severely restricts thecountry the level of development of equipment manufacturing industry and affects thedevelopment process of China’s equipment manufacturing industry. Although China is“great equipment manufacturing industry country”, it is not “power equipmentmanufacturing industry country”.As China’s important production base of equipment manufacturing industry, withthe development in50years, Liaoning Province has formed a wide range, large-scaleequipment manufacturing system, which has a pivotal position in the layout of theequipment manufacturing industry. As a major pillar industry in Liaoning Province’s,equipment manufacturing industry affects the level of economic development inLiaoning Province seriously. But in recent years, due to the institutional, technical,personnel and other aspects reasons, the development speed of the equipmentmanufacturing industry in Liaoning has significantly fall behind Jiangsu、Guangdong、Shandong province whose equipment manufacturing industry is great. Because of thelow capability of independent innovation, the weak market share rate, the weakenedoverall competitiveness, it seriously affects the development level of equipmentmanufacturing industry in Liaoning Province. In the increasingly competitivebackground, how to strengthen its own advantages, improve its own development pace and narrow the gap with the advanced level of equipment manufacturing industry in otherprovinces, is an urgent problem to face and solve.In this article, firstly we analyze the international and domestic environment todefine the influence of external environment. In order to determine its location, we buildthe equipment manufacturing industry advanced level evaluation system and use thefactor analysis method to compare Liaoning Province and other provinces. By comparingwith several provinces which rank in front Liaoning Province identifies the gaps betweeneach other; while compare the development level in Liaoning Province in nearly10yearsto observe its development trend in recent years. Finally we propose strategy to enhancethe advanced level of equipment manufacturing industry in Liaoning Province. In thisarticle, in order to find out the appropriate strategies which improve the developmentlevel of Liaoning Province’s equipment manufacturing industry, we use a combination ofqualitative and quantitative analysis method, through horizontal and comprehensivecomparison, trying to figure out the fundamental reasons which restrict the equipmentmanufacturing industry development level in Liaoning Province.
