Stepping into the21st century, China’s civil aviation industry meets enormous opportunities while at the same time faces big challenges as well. At present the marketing departments of most airlines still adopt the old and traditional methods, which often neglect the operational efficiency within the marketing team.In this essay the writer mainly adopted the methods of case study and documental analysis to develop ways of increasing the flight revenue of airlines by improving the efficiency of management team within the airlines. It is stated that in order to improve the efficiency the airlines need to find the problems, analyze the causes and solve them with the method of project management.It is stated that the demand for air travel is high and the competition between airlines is more and more fierce. However, most airlines focus mainly on capacity, booking class (fare basis) as well as price and often neglect the efficiency within the marketing team. The sales and marketing of airlines fit the6characteristics of project management. The writer analyzes the necessity and feasibility of the project management and draws a conclusion that by adopting the project management method the efficiency would be improved dramatically.By analyzing the case of A airlines the writer designs, adopts and promotes the H Plan, which includes the optimization of human resources, establishment of sales and marketing project, management of sales process and also resource sharing of information. Through this plan the time actually spent on sales is increasing and the high efficiency is always ensured in order to increase the revenue of flights. In the end the writer predicts the effect of H plan and analyzes the exterior elements which could affect the implementation of the plan, such as demands of passengers. Meanwhile, the writer also advocates improvement of ground service and brand influence.
