Job evaluation is a management technology which follows certain standards and procedures. It is used for evaluating job values in an organization and establishing job value sequence. There is a variety of job evaluation methods, such as Ranking method, Classification method, Factor Comparison method, and Point-factor method, etc. Selecting appropriate method for job evaluation is very important. Point-factor method is the most widely used method in China. Meanwhile, most of the world top500enterprises use Hay Evaluation as the operation method for job evaluation. Based on the exploration of the job evaluation’s historical development in China and abroad, and the concise comparison of the current popular evaluation method, this thesis chooses Point-factor Method and Hay Evaluation as the emphasis of this study. Firstly, this thesis gives a detailed introduction and analysis respectively from the concept, operation methods, considerations and their applicability&inapplicability. Secondly, this thesis gives a further research on their similarities and specialties which will be the base of the following model development. Finally, this thesis gives a simulation development of the job evaluation model which is based on the operating advantages’research of both Hay Evaluation and Point-factor Method and will be suitable for the domestic enterprises. This thesis mainly studies and discusses the optimization model of job evaluation, focusing on selecting job evaluation factors, setting evaluation factors’weight, describing the definitions of each classifications, etc., and it considers about the implementation of job evaluation model from an overall perspective. For example, in a manufacturing enterprise, it needs to build a position value sequence based on the evaluation of optimization model and some scientific statistical approaches. The results of job evaluation are highly recognized in the organization and the wage system which is built on the basis of these results can ensure the equity within the organization, generate the employees’senses of identity, mobilize the enthusiasm of staff, improve the organization’s efficiency, and build a scientific and reasonable compensation system laying on a solid foundation.
