The Consumption Pattern Of China Under The Vision Of Marx’s Ecological Consumption Theory

Consumption is the dynamic of the development of human society, and theexchanging process between humanity and the ecosystem. After entering into theindustrial era, human created huge material wealth which is more than ever before,and then human entered into a civilization era which the consumption create theworld. However, when human still indulging in the material desires, a series ofresources and environment crisis follow the irrational consumptive patterns.Our country is in the period of social transformation. After the reform andopening-up, the culture between China and the West exert huge challenge to that ofChinese traditional patterns, which causes a great many problems. This consumerismwill prevent economy’s development of our country, and put pressure on our nation’sresources and environment. Because of this, it’s urgent for us to change theconsumption style, and build a kind of ecological model that can adapt to ecologicalcivilization.In order to find out a better way to achieve the ecological-transformation ofconsumption pattern, this paper is based on the theory level--classic Marxismcombined with China real condition, aiming to find a ecological consumption patternwith Chinese characteristic.To begin with, this paper emphasizes on the analysis of the theoreticalfoundation and basic content of Marx ecological consumption ideology. Thenevaluate the scientific of the ideology. Marx did not explicitly put forward theecological consumption ideology, but the view of nature, the view of consumptionand the alienation theory imply the ideology of ecological consumption. Through theanalysis of these three theories, we can conclude the main content of Marx’secological consumption, which refers to a civilized consumption patterns with the mutualism and coordination between people and nature as the premise，satisfactionof real human needs as the objective，and free and all-around development byconsuming the minimal power as the route.In addition, this paper analyze the evolution and current situation of ourcountry’s consumption patterns. It reveal the transformation of consumption patternfrom the necessary patterns to development patterns, and even the enjoyable patterns.It also points out the main drawback of our country’s current consumption patterns,that is the consumption subject of our country is in low quality, the consumptionstructure tended to be low level, and production consumption and life consumptionare unreasonable. During the period of social transformation, the collision betweenChinese and Western culture, and the deviation of public opinion direction cause thedrawback of our country’s consumption patterns. Only know the fundamental can wesuit the remedy to the case. Through the research on the evolution and currentsituation of our country’s consumption patterns, seriously handle the drawbacks ofour country’s consumption patterns, then we can guide to solve the practicalproblems using the Marx ecological consumption ideology.Finally, this paper discuss the possibility and necessity of ecological patterns inour country and analyze the basic principle that we must obey. Then we conclude themethod of constructing consumption pattern in China. It mainly contains five aspects:transform the pattern of economic development with the rapid development ofeco-economy; implement of the law system concerning ecology; the construction ofeco-culture with Chinese characteristic and rebuilding the value system of consumer;implement of the democracy, and activation of the citizen to eco-consumption;propose the ‘limited welfare’ way of life and build a harmonious atmosphere ofecological consumption.
