The small and medium-sized enterprises play an important economic pillar role in China’s national economy, play an important role in promoting scientific and technological progress, enriching industrial clusters, improving the efficiency of resource allocation, increasing employment and expanding exports etc. Providing active financial support for small and medium-sized enterprises is not only the inevitable requirement for the development of SMEs, but also is an important part of the reform of the financial system. In today’s diversification of customer needs and competitive market, small business credit of commercial banks in China is still in the extensive mode of operation which is decided by the traditional rule, there are various degrees of shortages in the aspect of customer segmentation service, product innovation and design, various kinds of business integration and service channel construction. Besides, the management level and service capabilities are also unable to meet the core needs of the market and customers. Therefore, commercial banks should attach great importance to the optimization of the management of SMEs credit business.This article starts with the case that the commercial banks’losses due to poor business of SMEs credit business, and then points out the commercial banks’own business losses under the extensive management of SMEs credit business, and one of the most important way to achieve the banks’ healthy and sustainable development is to manage the credit market for SMEs. After a detailed analysis of the criteria for the classification of SMEs in China, the status and role of SMEs in the national economy, as well as the credit demand characteristics of SMEs and factors of SMEs financing difficulties, this combinthesis with commercial banks’ SMEs credit management status, makes a depth analysis of the problems of the SMEs Loan, including the existing organizational structure is not suitable for the development of SMEs credit business, the lack of credit products for SMEs, the amount of the secured collateral is too small, SMEs credit approval is cumbersome and current fiscal policies has many obstacles to the development of SMEs credit.In today’ intensive competition in the market and serious trend of financial disintermediation, with SMEs credit act as a new pivot of commercial bank’ profits grow, the commercial banks have to make reforms and adjustments to get a place in the financial market. As to the problems of SMEs credit business, this paper puts forward optimized suggestions and solutions, including innovating the management mode of SMEs in commercial banks, establishing the franchise organizations of the SMEs, achieving authority delegated and full-time dedicated; paying attention to product development and innovation, encouraging first-line loan personnel to be creative and dare to innovate; enriching SMEs’loan marketing methods, using diversified and multi-directional ways of marketing to the customers; simplifying the credit process, and the core of simplifying process lies in used credit evaluation mechanisms which is in line with the characteristics of SMEs. And before preloan, investigation, interloan examination, and post-loan management have respectively done well in the SME risk control, namely improving the efficiency of credit processing, and dispersing the risks.
