Conduction Effect Of Internal Control On The Ownership Structure And Accounting Information Quality

With1575A-shared listed companies of Shenzhen Stock Exchange (GEMexcluded) from2010to2011as sample, this thesis tests the intermediary effect ofinternal control on the relation between ownership structure and accountinginformation quality by applying SPSS17.0and Stata12.0to the regression analysis.Focusing on the conductive effect of internal control on the ownership structureand accounting information quality, this thesis adopts ownership concentration,ownership balance power as well as managerial shareholding level as proxy variablesof ownership structure, and adopts the grades from appraisal report of accountinginformation disclosure by Shenzhen Stock Exchange as indicator for accountinginformation quality. The empirical results show that:(1) There is positive correlationbetween ownership concentration and accounting information quality. The greater theownership balance power is, the higher the accounting information quality will be.And the higher the managerial shareholding level is, the higher the accountinginformation quality will be.(2) There is positive correlation between the shareholdingof the largest shareholder and intenal control. Greater ownership balance power andhigher managerial shareholding level lead to better internal control.(3) Internalcontrol has the intermediary effect on the relation between ownership structure andaccounting information quality.Based on the findings, this thesis proposes suggestions for improving ownershipstructure, internal control level and accounting information quality. Meanwhile,drawbacks of current studies as well as prospects of future studies are summarized.
