The relationship between leaders and members is considered to be the most important area oforganization and management. It is of great significance to handle well the relationship betweenleadership and membership. Organizational leadership style can be divided into transactionalleadership style and transformational leadership style. Based on exchange theory, transactionalleadership think the way to improve is to improve employee performance reward. Transformationalleadership is more concerned about the needs of employees, they think that by stimulating the demandfor high-level employees can improve job performance. Union leaders studied in the paper is in linewith transformational leadership style, by organizing various activities to encourage union membersto do things conducive to the organization. On the other hand, the behavior of members can bedivided into behavior within tasks and behavior outside tasks. Behavior within tasks refers to thebehavior limited to the work content. Behavior outside tasks refers to the behavior outside of workrequirements, but it is conducive to organizational interests, namely organizational citizenshipbehavior. Members’ behavior studied in the paper is union citizenship behavior.On the basis of literature review, the paper explore the union practice plays a mediating rolebetween union transformational leadership and union citizenship behavior and the Chinesetraditionalism plays a moderating role between union transformational leadership and unioncitizenship behavior. The paper takes Jiangsu province enterprises as the samples, to verify theassumptions.The empirical results indicate that: union practice plays an intermediary role between uniontransformational leadership and union citizenship behavior; Chinese traditionalism moderates therelationship between union transformational leadership and union citizenship behavior. For lowtraditional staffs, union transformational leadership and union citizenship behavior are positivelycorrelated. While for high traditional staffs, union transformational leadership and union citizenshipbehavior are not related.The paper explores the effects of the union practice and the Chinese traditionalism on therelationship between union transformational leadership and union citizenship behavior. The study isbeneficial to the union functions, to improve the efficiency of the trade union organization and topromote the harmonious development of the enterprise and the trade union.
