The contradiction between its gratifying result and people’s lifeis exposing increasingly, a series of problems which has the characteristics of timesare coming one after another, the people’s livelihood problems become the wholesociety ’s hot topic, the party and the government will put the people’s livelihoodimproving in a very important condition as the" Twelfth Five-Year Plan" carry outand implement. This article is based on a statistical point of view, aims to reflect theactual standard of living by establishing and calculating a statistical index system ofthe people’s livelihood in Jilin province. Practice aims to gainthe score model of the people’s livelihood integrated index, and calculate the indexscore of Jilin province from1997to2010, through calculating the indexes of Jilinprovince from1996to2010by two principal components analysis.The fifth part is situation analysis and countermeasures of the people’s livelihoodin Jilin province.
