This project comes from the development of new product in factory, and purpose of this design is to develop a radio altimeter which is served to meet the requirements of various high and low speed aircrafts flying at low altitudes. The radio altimeter has better adaptability in the terrain and climate. The project stand at the frontier of this field in the study of radio altimeter which based on the previous master’s research achievements and experiences. The prospects of this new product will be enormous after its realization.Based on frequency modulation continuous wave (FMCW) system, the X X type of radio altimeter is designed to transmit the modulated signal after being processed in segments with altitude predictions, and then the altimeter receives the reflected signal in autocorrelation. The predictive altitude is corrected with frequency tracking technology to ensure the predictive altitude to be almost the same as the real height as soon as the system becomes stable.In this project, the application of frequency tracking technology and altitude predictions greatly improve its real-time ability and the application of autocorrelation enhance the anti-jamming ability. The real-time ability increase the number of sample in unit time after the system becomes stable. The statistic analysis and evaluation of expectation of normal distribution greatly decrease the probability of making mistakes.
