With the improvement of public security requirements, the traditional video surveillance has been unable to meet the increasing size of the monitor and monitoring requirements. The function of traditional video monitoring system is single, the system store a large amount of image without moving targets, waste storage space. Therefore, research on less error and real-time perimeter intrusion detection system is of great significance.This thesis studies the intelligent video surveillance motion target detection technology, and builds a real-time perimeter intrusion detection system based on SEP611 embedded processor. Perimeter intrusion detection system consists of video acquisition module, intrusion detection module and network transmission module.Intrusion detection module is the core of the system module and its key technology is moving target detection algorithm. The detection accuracy and speed of moving target detection algorithm determines the detection accuracy and real-time performance of perimeter intrusion detection system.In this thesis, based on the fast moving target detection algorithm ViBe, for reduce the background model error which caused by the background shade change and scintillation, WViBe algorithm is proposed. WViBe algorithm judge the neighborhood points mechanism and weighted judgment mechanism, gradually eliminate background model error which caused by shade change. WViBe algorithm expanding the range of initial background model, reduce the background model error which caused by scintillation. Experimental results show that, compared with the ViBe algorithm, the time of the WViBe algorithm eliminate background model error which caused by shade change is reduced 90%, the number of wrong foreground plots which caused by scintillation reduce 92%-98%.This thesis also analyze the relationship between color space representation method and detecting algorithm, the conclusion is HSV color space is optimal choice. System accuracy test shows that, miss rate is not more than 4.5%, and the leak rate is not more than 2%. System real-time performance tests show that the frame rate is 28 fps for QVGA image.This thesis’s research results can be used for the research and application of motion object detection, and for other perimeter intrusion detection system based on embedded devices, the research has reference significance.
