Information reconciliation is an important concept proposed with the development of quantum cryptography,is also an important step in both quantum key distribution and unconditionally secure key distribution. Its purpose is to transform two equal length but not identical bit strings into the identical string by exchanging information through an authenticated public channel. Now it has become an important research topic in the field of information security. In the past dozens of years,people have proposed many different information reconciliation protocols, Winnow,Binary,Cascade is the most famous.The main work in this article is as follows:(1) We get some properties by analyzing the experimental results of computer simulation of information reconciliation protocol Cascade.(2) We improve the information reconciliation protocol Cascade by analyzing its proper-ties. The number of times the exchange of information using the improved informa-tion reconciliation protocol is less than Cascade’s,also the remaining bit much more after information reconciliation when the error rate of bit string is larger.
