In recent years, the internet of things receives an increased attention. Intelligent technology such as Smart Grid, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Smart City, Smart Factory, Smart Home, which is a hot research field, can be regarded as the combination of Iot and each area. As one of the key technologies of Io T, RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) is an automatic data collection by the transmission of space electromagnetic waves. Due to the high reliability, fast identification speed, strong real-time, far identifiable distance of RFID technology, are widely used in the transportation, logistic, storage, entrance guard and other systems based on Io T.Applying RFID to supermarket and building the smart supermarket based on Io T instead of traditional supermarket management mode could improve the efficiency of staff and make shopping more convenient. But there are still many problems. For exanmple, there is no overall architecture in the rearch of smart supermarket. Moreover, in the supermarket, there are multiple goods’ tags transmit their own information simultaneously. As a result, tags will collide and the reader can’t identify tags’ information successfully. First in this thesis, the disadvantage of traditional supermarket, the overall architecture of smart supermarket, EPC code, the structure of RFID system and work principle have been described. Then the thesis studys the tag collision problem, which is the biggest technology problem, and presents the present common types of probabilistic anti-collision algorithms and determined anti-collision search algorithms and analyses their principles and efficieny. Based on above, the thesis proposes a new RFID tag anti-collision algorithm- "Bit-Locking- Quadtree" algorithm, designs its workflow and proves its applicability by simulation.Then the thesis proposes a model of smart supermarket based on RFID, introduces the architecture and process of every systems, including the database design, stock management system, Smart shelf and cashier and entrance guard system. The simulation and program works based on the solution are also carried on in VS2010 and SQL Sever2005 environment in C#. Feasibility of the method is confirmed by the results.In the end, both the summary and prospect of the smart supermarket based on Io T are mentioned.
