Radio Frequency IDentification(RFID) is a kind of non-contact automatic identification technology, which is widely used in many fields, such as logistic transportation, safety management and supply chain management. C urrently, there are still many technical problems in RFID technology that are needed to be solved, including rapid identification problem, RFID data management and analysis problem, RFID privacy and security problem and so on. This paper investigates the fast and complete unknown tag identification of RFID tag identification problems. In the large scale RFID system, unknown tags refer to the misplaced tags or the new tags that just enter to the system, which have not been read and recorded by the reader. At present, there are a lot of unknown tag identification protocols. However, these protocols either have low recognition e fficiency or only identify certain of unknown tags. For the above research situations, this paper presents the fast and complete unknown tag identification protocols, which the specific contents are summarized as follows.Firstly, this paper proposes a fa st and complete unknown tag identification protocol, namely F-CUIP. It uses a single-tag vector to deactivate the known tags that reduces the size of tags involved in the response, and then utilizes a coded filtering vector to filter and deactivate. In the end, it uses an indicator vector to identify all labeled unknown tags. In addition, F-CUIP improves the identification efficiency further by optimizing parameter settings.Secondly, taking into account the specific category of unknown tag timely identification in the practical applications, this paper proposes a fast protocol for identifying the specific category of unknown tags, namely F-SUIP. It is the first time to combine the tag category with the unknown tag identification. F-SUIP not only uses the space-efficient bloom filter to filter unknown tags, also adopts the single-tag vector to suppress all known tags, which achieves a rapid and complete identification for the specific category of unknown tags. Finally, this paper validates the above protocols. The experimental results show the proposed protocols can identify all the unknown tags in the large scale RFID systems, as well as achieve high recognition efficiency, which perform much better than the existing works.
