In the current security field, the lip biometric-recognition was coming into sight, but applications in the field of lip- ident ificat ion was so rarely, Even if there were some special researchs and applicat ions on ident ificat ion of lip-region, the effects were not very good. The reasons that the effect of previous identif ication method based on lip biometr ic-recognition was not very good had the following several points: The accuracy was insufficient in the step of lip area detection. Dimensionality reduction and denois ing was insufficient in the step of lip feature extraction. The model of identificat ion was a simple distance matching, and the recognition effect of that model was poor in the step of lip feature recognition.In this paper, we designed a kind of recognition algor ithm based on the lip biological –characteristic, which was deeply discussed and analyzed.The mainly task as follows:(1)Based on the theory, we designed the biometric recognition system based on lip, the designed system including the lip video data pre processing, detection and extraction of lip features, optimization of lip feature,lip feature recognition process.(2) In the lip video data preprocessing, The designs enhanced the lip recognition system’s practicability and reduced the complexity of lip recognition system.(3) In the detection and extraction of lip features, we designed a new lip-area detection algor ithm, and compared this algorithm with other algorithms, analysed and summed up the excellent properties of the algorithm. considered to the feature set of the complexity and difficulty, we used PCA(Principal Component Analysis) to reduced the dimensionality of the feature space, optimized the lip feature set, and reduced the noise characteristics.(4)In the lip feature recognition process, a feature matching model was proposed, which was designed to deal with each part of the model.(5) In this paper, we analyzed and verified these algorithms from aspects of accuracy, stability,and time consumption.
