The polar transmitter based on EER architecture is a highly efficient RF transmitter systems. The system is different from traditional I / Q quadrature transmitter, and its architecture by the technique eliminating the signal envelope and reconstruction allows the transmitter power amplifier always working in a saturated or nearly saturated state, thereby improving PA efficiency of transmitter.With the development of modern communications, in order to improve the spectral efficiency of the communication process, a lot of technology such as OFDM, CDMA and other sophisticated communication has been used. These modulation techniques tend to have higher PARP(peak-to-average ratio), so more power back-off is needed in the traditional quadrature transmitter in order to ensure transmitter power amplifier in the linear region. In this way, the efficiency of the PA of the transmitter system is significantly reduced.So it’s with important significance to study the system based on EER architecture to transmit the signal with high PARP. In this paper, theoretical analysis and hardware implementation aspects of EER launch systems studied, and in the final the design and implementation of the EER system has been completed.This paper introduces the basic architecture of launch system architecture based on EER and key technologies involved. Meanwhile we introduced the system involved in the multirate signal processing technology, delay estimation techniques, digital pre-distortion technology and other key algorithms. The hardware implementation of the system and the key issues was also presented. Finally, the paper also describes the key performance indicators and test results of the EER system, problems of the system for PA efficiency and many other aspects was analyzed.
