Abstract/Summary:
The great success for the mobile communication system has greatly stimulated the development on next wireless communication systems, which needs higher data rate and a larger bandwidth. The wideband characteristics of millimeter wave can effectively solve many problems faced with high-speed broadband wireless intervene, so millimeter wave wireless communication technology is considered as one of the technologies for the most promising short-range communication currently. Simulation and measurement of millimeter wave propagation characteristics in indoor typical environments are studied based on the method of shooting and bouncing ray in the thesis, which offer the important theoretical foundation for distribution and planning of the millimeter wave communications network in indoor environments.Firstly, the multipath propagation mechanism of the wireless radio wave propagation is introduced. The key performance indicators and influential factors of the wireless channel propagation characteristics are analyzed. The features of millimeter wave are explained in this thesis. Then, the thesis offers a brief introduction to the basic theory of the method of the shooting and bouncing ray. What’s more, the Wireless InSite software and the measurement system in this thesis are described.Secondly, three indoor typical environments are modeled and simulated, and the simulation results are compared with the actual measurement results. The three environments are empty room, conference room and corridor. And the correctness of the method in this thesis is verified. The measurement results in the meeting room and corridor are actually measured in this thesis. And, the measurement results in the empty room are in the published literature.Then, in the office environment, the calculating depth of the multipath propagation mechanism, the material of walls and desks and the different points between 60 GHz and 2.4GHz are discussed. The conclusions are as follows: considering triple reflection and once transmission can combine accuracy and efficiency; if the objects in the office use a material of smaller conductivity, the value of root mean square delay spread will be smaller; with respect to the mobile communications band, the severe loss of millimeter wave suits for short-range communication.Finally, in the home environment, the propagation characteristics in line-of-sight and non-line-of-sight environment are discussed respectively, and the conclusions are as follows: in line-of-sight environment, using a circularly polarized antenna can effectively reduce the value of root mean square delay spread and improve the anti-jamming capability of wireless communication system; in line-of-sight and non-line-of-sight environment, the roughness of things in the propagation environment can reduce the value of root mean square delay spread.
