The mobile communications developed from the first generation(1G) to the fourth generation(4G) is a process of transmission from voice to multimedia information transmission. As 4G enter into the stage of large-scale commercial, the fifth generation of mobile communication has become a global research and development focus in the year beyond 2020. This paper relies on the National High Technology Research and Development Program(863 Program) funded projects focused on "5G new modulation and coding technology research and development", carried out the research and design of the new fifth-generation mobile communication modulation and non-orthogonal multiple access transmission technology.This paper first analyzes the orthogonal frequency division multiple access(OFDM) modulation technology, focus on the analyze about the principle and key technologies of filtered multi-tone(FMT) technology which is studied more in foreign country. FMT technology make it not overlap between the spectrum through each sub-channel filter bank modulation techniques, can effectively overcome the shortcomings of the frequency offset sensitive of OFDM systems and FMT systems can use the fast Fourier transform(FFT) like OFDM system, thereby significantly reducing the complexity of the system implementation. As sub-channels filter does not meet the conditions of perfect reconstruction using finite impulse response filter of FMT system, the receiver require complex equalization techniques. Based on the theoretical analysis, this paper complete the design FMT simulation platform, implementation and optimization through setting up Matlab simulation environment. Moreover,through the derivation for the formula of the transmitter and receiver from the FMT system, design and achieve the high efficient transmission structure of the FMT, actualize the multi phase decomposition of filter, depress the sampling rate of each sub filter and reduce the coefficient and the amount of computation.Secondly, based on the system configuration and the advantages and disadvantages of OFDM and FMT, a new modulation technology solutions is proposed.We refer to this new scheme as Cyclic Prefix Filtered Multi-tone Modulation. We deduced Time Domain transceiver implementation method of CP-FMT technology. The method data cycle blocks effectively prevents the distortion of received signal and the spectrum leakage of transmitted signal.It achieve frame structure compatibility between CP-FMT system and 3GPP-LTE system. Then the simulation platform about CP-FMT modulation scheme is build. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show, under the ideal channel estimation condition, the diversity gain and the BER performance of the system are improved by CP-FMT in the ideal condition, and the multiple access interference performance is better than CP-OFDM system.
