In recent years, mufti-protocol, mufti-carrier, mufti-user, and mufti-business are characteristics of the rapid growth of cellular networks, and with the growing diversity of business needs, improving the energy efficiency of the cellular networks has become a critical issue, improving the energy efficiency of the networks will become the focus in the research. This thesis introduces the theory of the cellular network, and the system model for OFDMA and CDMA.The main results of this study are as follows:First, although energy efficiency of communication systems has been studied for years, minimizing overall energy consumption of OFDMA downlink systems is still a challenge. In view of usual implementations, in this paper the energy consumption of control processor, specific circuit and analog front-end are jointly minimized, with algorithm complexity, resource scheduling, coding rate and modulation order as optimization variables. Due to the optimization algorithm executed in control processor determines energy consumption in other components, a way based on iterative algorithms is proposed to track the minimum of entire system energy consumption. In the case study, we design a genetic algorithm and demonstrate the effective tracking based on practical parameters. Finally, by the simulation, proved the effective tracking based on the actual parameters.Second, Multi-hop cellular communication has been proposed mainly to overcome some of the short-comings of cellular networks. Increasing network capacity and reducing energy consumption are amongst the promised advantages of this concept. This thesis focuses on the multi-hop CDMA cellular network based on energy consumption analysis and optimization, and the optimized design. The program analyzes the uplink capacity and energy consumption of the multi-hop cellular network, when the maximum system capacity, minimum of energy loss optimization formula and iterative algorithm to obtain the optimal solution. Finally, through quantitative simulation analysis the changes of network energy loss under different parameters. The simulation results show that when the parameters of a certain, system performance of the optimal solution can be gained by using multihop.
