The movement verbs English "go" and Korean "kada" not only have the same lexical meaning "move from one place to another", but also have many other lexical meanings, and they can produce lots of new meanings by combining with other components. This paper focuses on studying the lexical meanings of "go" and "kada" in order to explore their configuration and composition of semantic components and conducts the comparative analysis of the ways and features of semantic extension between "go" and "kada". And further it does the comparative analysis of the ways and features of the semantic extension of "go" and "kada" at phrasal level.This paper extracts 7 lexical meanings of "go" from 3 English dictionaries and 8 lexical meanings of "kada" from 3 Korean dictionaries, and then conducts the semantic analysis of each lexical meaning of "go" and "kada". Then it does the semantic analysis of the obligatory semantic components of "go" and "kada". With the frequency analysis, this paper finds out the basic semantic components of "go" and "kada" are both [+move], and then classifies the semantic components of "go" and "kada" based on the features of movement verb and the agents of "go" and "kada". According to these classification, this paper analyzes the interrelation between semantic components of "go" and "kada", it draws the conclusion as follows:all of the extensional meanings of "go" and "kada" have the basic semantic component [+move], and they are extended from the basic meaning by producing new semantic components or emphasizing or getting rid of some semantic components.In order to study the semantic extension of "go" and "kada" at phrasal level, this paper chooses the first meanings of 17 phrasal verbs of "go" and 17 phrasal verbs of "kada" from three English dictionaries and three Korean dictionaries. After analyzing the similar and different phrasal verbs of "go" and "kada", this paper concludes that the ways of semantic extension of phrasal verbs of "go" are two:first, the basic semantic component [+move] combines with the semantic components of particle; second, the basic semantic component [+move] combines with the semantic components of particle and also the new semantic component. The way of semantic extension of phrasal verbs of "kada" is that:the basic semantic component [+move] combines with the semantic components of verb. The features of semantic extension of "go" and "kada" at phrasal level are that the phrasal verbs of "go" and "kada" make the direction, way, purpose, time of moving more explicit by combining with the particles and verbs belonging to place, direction, way, purpose and time.Although the morphological feature and the configuration and composition of semantic components of "go" and "kada" at phrasal level are different, "go" and "kada" still share the similar ways and features of the semantic extension at word and phrasal levels, both of them accord with the features of the movement verb.
