With the development of times and the advance of technology, optical fiber transmission technology has been increasingly extensive applied in the field ofcommunications, broadcasting and TV. Optical fiber transmission has the advantage ofrich capacity, high reliability, strong anti-interference ability, much resources and low price. This paper mainly research on optical fiber technology in the application of cable TV, aimed at improving Xinyang branch of Henancable’s digital and analog TV signal transmission quality, rich content, and transmission reliability.The corresponding concept of optical communication technology and fiber optic communication principle are chiefly introducedin this paper. Then based on the first phase of Xinyang branch network transformation, the shortagewhich exists in it are analyzed, and the concrete projecthas been proposed, which are from network structure, technical parameters configuration, solutions of up and down signalor echo signal, network bandwidth, frequency allocation, the index distribution and system solutions, sustainable utilization of the resources of network power supply, comprehensively expounds the network upgrade from 450 MHZ to 860 MHZ system; Providing the one-way, star - tree low reliability transmission system upgrade to ring - star - tree structure, high reliability system solutions.This network upgrade adopted domestic general HFC architecture (cable, coaxial cable transmission network structure).
