As the development of hardware technologies and the expending of network information. Economic activities, contacts and exchanges all relate to security issues. It is a very important issue how to certificate permission. Therefore, one of the applications for people’s identity recognition is coming up, especially in the mobile Internet age, the demand for mobile vision applications has been expanded. In the multiple biometrics of human body, the face is a typical biometric of human body. So, via the human face to identification, it is faster and more reliable and convenient compared with other means.Face recognition is a process of image processing. It selects the image containing the human face as the input. And the image is processed by a certain way, and transformed into vector. In comparison with the degree of similarity between vectors to determine the similarity of two images, furthermore classify whether these two images belong to same category, thereby figure out the identity of the target facial image. Because the mobile device based on android platform is now accounting for a big proportion in market, and it’s very cheap. It is commonly used to take photos and access images by public. This dissertation selects android phones as a way to get images, and transmits images over the network to the computer server. The result is then feedback to the mobile application, so as to achieve facial recognition that can be used commonly.At present, facial recognition technologies have been applied to various industries, particularly in security, defense, finance, medical equipment, as well as online education and other important areas. Its technology research and practical application have been very mature. With the rapid development of smart phones, mobile Internet era officially arrived. Internet life is also transferred from the PC to the mobile terminal. A variety of applications APP have sprung up, news reading, online communication, mobile games, video sessions and other functions more and more able to meet people’s daily lives. Believe in the near future, with the further improvement of hardware equipment, a lot of work can also be transferred to the mobile terminal. The mobile vision application of face recognition based on Android mobile phone is to transfer some of the work that needs to be identified and authority authentication to the mobile terminal. Such a change is in line with the new trend of Internet life, is also in line with the new strategic Internet plus. Based on this consideration, this paper combines the convenience of mobile devices and the performance of the computer side to make a mobile vision application on face recognition. Keep up with the pace of the Internet, but also to seize the opportunity of the Internet. Be a part of the transition from the PC to the mobile terminal. And as an opportunity to explore and develop the effect and role of face recognition in the mobile Internet Era.In this dissertation, I mainly study the two parts of feature extraction and matching recognition in face recognition, and I also study some algorithms and methods related to facial recognition. Based on content of my study, I designed and complete the facial recognition system, built the database of facial images individually, and did the work relating to this. The major method used in this dissertation is PCA(Component Analysis Principle), which is introduced and implement below.
