Since the oven controlled crystal oscillator(OCXO) having the characteristics of low phase noise and excellent frequency temperature stability, it has been the preferred frequency device used to provide a stable and low-noise clock signal for electronic system,in communication systems, radar systems, navigation systems, monitoring and control systems and other electronic systems. Meanwhile, the OCXO usually has two obvious disadvantages, the one is large dimensions, and the other one is slow starting. To some extent, these two disadvantages limit the applications of the OCXO. The contents of this thesis is researching a quick start miniature OCXO, via reducing the dimensions and shortening the start speed of OCXO to widen its applications.For the purpose of researching a quick start miniature OCXO, this thesis is worked in four areas: First, to lay a theoretical foundation of quick start miniature crystal resonator, analysing its characteristics. Secondly, to make the basis of choosing low noise oscillator circuit which is for miniature and precise temperature control circuit which is for quick start, researching the oscillator circuit and temperature control circuit of OCXO. Then, through comparative analysis and computer simulation, researching and confirming the relevant parameters of the crystal oscillator, designing and optimizing the parameters of the oscillator circuit and the temperature control circuit. Finally, after settling all the design parameters, formulating the specifications of OCXO, producing a OCXO with quick start miniature characteristics, testing and analysing it at last.According to the thesis of researching a quick start miniature OCXO, the test results is: the OCXO is worked in the frequency range of 10MHz120MHz, with a miniature(≤20mm×20mm×11mm), quick start(≤±1×10-7,1 min), excellent frequency temperature stability(≤±5×10-8,-55℃+85℃), low phase noise(≤-150dBc/Hz@1kHz),etc. This research improves the disadvantage of ordinary OCXO which can be applied to more electronic systems and devices.
