With the development of communication technologies, the data requirement of people is growing. And the communication frequency is growing higher at the same time. Smart radio and many other technologies are proposed to improve the spectral efficiency. New planar and reconfigurable circuits are greatly needed to satisfy these technologies demands.Based on the existing electronic control technology, substrate integrated waveguide(SIW) magnetic control devices are briefly introduced. After short discussions about microwave ferrite an E-plane ferrite-loaded SIW isolator is designed. Inspired by the H-plane ferrite-load isolator, a surface-loaded ferrite SIW isolator is proposed. This kind of isolator avoids the overcoming of H-plane ferrite-load isolator. And it is easier to integrate with planar circuit and process. Basing on the ferrite-loaded SIW a surface-loaded SIW switch is proposed. The design method is clarified in the paper. Following this method a two stage ferrite single pole single through(SPST) switch is designed and processed. Wide bandwidth and good isolation is achieved, which proves the validity of proposed method. Following a new kind of ferrite-loaded SIW bandpass filter is proposed. As an example, a third order filter is designed and processed to confirm the method. What’s more a circulator-duplexer is designed combing the advantages of dual-mode filter and circulator. It can be applied in the situation that high isolation needs to be realized in two very closer passband. In the last the application of ferrite-loaded SIW devices is discussed. And a microwave transceiver front-end is designed based on the circulator-duplexer. The experiment result basically fulfills the design demands.
