The history of human being is the urbanization process. However, there are a large number of problems with urbanization. With the rapid progress of urbanization and the development of new gen-media, the relationship between urban and propagation becomes a hot topic. On one hand, city itself is a media, providing a platform for people to communicate with each other. On the other hand, the public multimedia is now recreating entity by means of technology. The evolution of technology will lead to the blend of multimedia and urban space. Both of them will accelerate the urban propagation. Currently, lots of academic scholars are interested in the relationship between urbanization and propagation and some of the fields have already achieve great success, such as media text.As the culture carrier, media text has great research value. What’s more, to some extent, media text is a part of urban text. The public media and new-gen media are our sample in which we could investigate the city, urban propagation and urban culture.With the development of information technology, there are numerous of brand new media technologies being created. Weibo platform is the outstanding result of media technology. It has lots of features, such as convenient, interactive, globalization. It makes the boundary between propagators and recipientsvague. The recipients canactively spread their words and opinions in Weibo platform. Thus, media should improve the productivity of media text and let recipientsinvolve in the propagation process as much as possible. In the meantime, it can gather abundant feedback from recipients to improve its propagation solution.This paper aims at investigate the relationship between urban and media text from the urban propagation perspective. Since the content of media text is close to the urban propagation, it needs the media text to achieve their goals, such as building the urban image, urban renewal and the urban culture inheritance. First of all, this thesis will clean and analyze the data by taking advantage of data mining. Moreover, it will point out the problems exist in the current propagation content via case study and keyword modeling. The last but not least, it will provide a solution to improve the media content. Hopefully, these examples would propel the development of urban propagation theory.
