The baseband signal generator is a common signal source in communication and radar system test. According to the user’s testing requirements, it can generate PSK, QAM digital modulation signals and be adjusted the amplitude and phase of the output signal to simulate the non ideal characteristics of the communication transmission. The instrument is commonly used in the equipment testing of the quadrature modulator, receiver, transmitter and so no.The project is the design of instrument driver of baseband signal occurrence module with PCIe interface. This design launches the IVI(interchangeable virtual instrument) Standard Specification for instrument driver. The main research contents are as follows:1. The interface design of the driver of base band signal generator instrumen. For the base band signal generator is not in the IVI class specification, the design of driver bases on the IVI specification to design the driver interface.2. Implementation of instrument driver of base band signal generator. In order to make the code clear and easy to understand, the instrument driver uses hierarchical design. In order to reduce the coupling between the software modules and improve the cohesion of each module, the instrument driver uses modular design.3. The design of PCIe bus interface. VISA((Virtual Instrument Software Architecture)) standard library is used to design the driver of the PCIe interface in order to avoid the change of the upper driver by the change of the bus interface.Through the test, the driver of the baseband signal generator can produce multiple functions of ASK, PSK, FSK, MSK, QAM modulation, a variety of data sources and user-defined baseband signal.
