With the increase of Internet users and the applications which need to consume a lot of traffic such as P2P and streaming video, the network has become a huge source of energy consumption. And it has a yearly growth trend. In order to ease network congestion generatedthe CDN. Redundant equipment and link are provided to respond to mass peak traffic. And these devices are in a state of continuous work which increases energy consumption. Therefore, the research of energy-saving in the CDN has becoming the current concern aspect.The research on green energy network has appeared in the network of wireless sensor networks and data centers and so on. However, how to reduce unnecessary wired network energy consumption has also been of great concern to everyone. Currently, there is a limited research of the energy-saving in the CDN. Most of research focuses on a particular aspect of the problem of network energy conservation.For example, the energy consumption of a single computing system, a network device(CPU,Network Interface,router,switch and so on).We can also study the global network of energy-saving strategy from the network point of view, considering the energy and performance factors. For example, to manage traffic through the network is optimized to achieve the integration of flow so that the energy consumption is relatively low, and the energy-aware routing.Obviously,the most direct way is energy-efficient equipment in idle some links and routers and switches by turning off.In this paper, through the study of various energy-saving strategies already existing, and the study of dynamical energy management strategies, which are based on the entire network by the energy-aware routing, traffic shaping, and control of network devices.We proposed based on the sleep-wake mechanism data forwarding model considering the QoS and energy consumption and give solutions.Finally, to ensure the efficiency of the algorithm in terms of energy efficiency and quality of the services proposed by simulation experiments show. These provide a good ideafor CDN to saving energy and make it tomeet the needs of users with limited resources, and helps to reduce energy consumption.
