Nowadays, photovoltaic modules are widely used in light volt power generation industry. In a practical application, the dust in the air will continuously deposited on the surface of the photovoltaic modules. And it will greatly reduce the conversion efficiency of photovoltaic modules. Therefore, the dust on the photovoltaic modules’ surface needs regular cleaning. At present, the main way of cleaning is manual cleaning, and the manual cleaning cost is higher.According to the situation above, several research institutions have designed the solar panel cleaning devices to solve the problem of dust cleaning. But, there are still some problems existing:lower cleaning efficiency, non-ideal cleaning effect, poor adaptation ability, incompletely automatic cleaning process. This paper fully analyzes the above problems, and a cleaning robot for photovoltaic module are designed. The advantages of the robot control system are high cleaning efficiency, good adaptation ability, completely automatic cleaning process. First, according to the cleaning task of the cleaning robot, the prototype is designed. Secondly, according to the functional requirement, we select and buy the components to build the hardware circuit, which is based on PLC controller. Then, the software of cleaning robot is designed, which including normal cleaning process control procedures, fault handler program and differential adjustment algorithm, etc. At last, the experimental study is proceeded at the scene of the simulation environment.Some problems are found at the scene of the simulation environment. The cleaning robot motion control system is constantly improved and optimized in this process.
