With the rapid aging population structure, the incidence of chronic diseases and mortality increased year by year in our country. How to improve the quality of life of the elderly and health care level has become the focus of the whole society. While the current health monitoring system of older people facing high costs, huge size, poor flexibility, lack of initiative, data processing lag, poor mobility and so many difficulties. By offering continuous and ubiquitous ambulatory health monitoring, Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs) represent a most promising solution. Accordingly, this paper proposes a remote health monitoring system based on WBANs and studies its application decision method. The content of the paper are as follows:(1) For elderly people and patients with chronic diseases, integrated WBANs and cloud computing, this paper puts forward a remote health monitoring of cloud services architecture based on WBANs. And complete the framework design for loocal WBANs acquisition system which multiple wearable monitoring nodes can be joined flexibly and the remote cloud platform.(2) Build star body area networks which have characteristics of self-networking and low power consumption by ZigBee. Design the monitoring nodes and gateway node, formulate the communication protocol, construct MySQL database system and remote service platform, realize multiple physiological parameters real-time acquisition, transmission and storage.(3) Study the application decision analysis methods. By constructing physiological health warning rules and matching users’data by circular search algrithm, realize the intelligent health assessment decision; By marking the history records through XML, adopt Lucene vector space model, optimize Lucene similarity sorting algorithm, achieve the self-diagnosis service.(4) For cloud service oriented users, develop android app and PC client application program, finally obtain functions such as users’ loogin, health query, health assessment and self-diagnosis.Take ECG and body temperature monitoring as an example, carry out functional tests for acquisition, transmission, storage and stability of the proposed system. The results indicate that the system has superior stability, scalability and reliability, and functions like remote health monitoring, assessment, self-diagnosis and hierarchical alarm are completed.
