Image stitching is to obtain a wide viewing angle and high resolution images from the group of images with a certain range of overlapping pieces by splicing. Compared to get the wide-angle image from the hardware, the image mosaic algorithm is cheaper and easy implementation. For the image mosaic, is no longer limited to two images from the traditional camera. Our experimental environment is the array camera module, and image mosaic of the images taken in this environment.The paper is divided into the following parts.1. Introduce the background, significance of the optical field imaging technology, and the three kinds of light field camera:Lytro camera,3D Raytrix light field camera and Pelican light field camera. Then the paper makes a brief introduction of the array images and the equipment of the paper,2. This paper summarizes the background and significance of image mosaic technology and the research status at home and abroad.3. Introduce the basic principles of image stitching technology.4. Summarize SIFT(scale invariant feature transform) feature, and use SIFT matching algorithm to accomplish our splicing experiments. In this paper we have a single object and multiple objects in the image. And moving the lens to achieve one group and multi groups array images to do the splicing experiment. Through a large number of splicing experiments and the mosaic results verify the applicability and feasibility of our algorithm.5. Summarize the research work of this thesis and expect the future study, we can see the field of study has a very broad research space, In this paper, the mosaic effect diagram contains traces of splicing, we see the need to improve the algorithm in the further; in addition, for the hardware, the next thing to do is adjusted to the rest of the lens with different focal length, to take a different depth of field of the image, and to examine whether can get the optimization of experimental results.The innovation of this paper is divided into three parts:1. The image matching algorithm that based on SIFT applied to the stitching of array image.2. Break through the limit of nature of the traditional single camera lens. Achieve multiple imaging in the single shot. Then change of position in the horizontal and vertical direction of array module. We have a large number of experiments to verify the algorithm. In order to make the image processing is a new research field.3. A shot to get a number of images, save time and improve the efficient. When the lens are enough for a camera, the single shot can replace dozens or even hundreds of thousands shots of the traditional camera. Then through single splicing to get a big scene, a wide viewing angle of the image; this process single shot from the array lens can replace dozens shot from the traditional camera. And optimize the time of mosaic the pictures. Therefore, the optimization of the time of the shooting and stitching is realized. The maximum savings of time, to achieve a real sense of time saving and high efficiency.
